Day One

Well, I was right. We left at 11:00 AM, made a quick stop at the Social Security office to drop off some paperwork I neglected to put in the mail and off we went.
We had decided to take HW 70 through the San Carlos Reservation to avoid Tucson.  We had barely entered the reservation when we were directed through the town of San Carlos, about 12 miles out of our way.  Didn't bother us, we're retried.
The rest of the trip was uneventful. We arrived at our first nights destination, Deming, New Mexico.
Deming is a quiet little place famous for its winter visitors and Rock Hound State park. Visitors there are permitted to collect up to 15 lbs of rocks.
That's over my weight limit so we'll skip
Rock Hound State park.
Looking forward to a good nights sleep and off to Carlsbad tomorrow.
